As you can see, I’m happy! It took me three different schools and five years to finally get a degree, but it is finished. It was a pretty short ceremony compared to some others I’ve been to. This may have been because there were only 12 people graduating this may out of a starting class of 72. How do you like those odds? I heard a couple weeks ago that the pass rate for the school is 4%. Bet I wouldn’t be here if they would have told me that 2.5 years ago. Either way, I had a great evening with family and friends.
We passed out roses during part of the celebration to all those who helped us through school. I let Zoe smell it before I handed it Ilise. I wanted to hand one to Zoe too but I didn’t have enough. My parents also received roses. My family is the reason I have gotten this far. And to think, people said Ilise and I were crazy to have Zoe when I still had over a semester of school left!
Here I was holding up a gift from a teacher, my diploma, and an “Outstanding Graduate Award” voted on by my instructors. Ilise calls this one the Brownnoser Award but I’m very happy that most of my instructors liked me enough to choose me.
Here are 7 of 12. The rest bailed out early. There were 4 male students in my class. Not only is this the most males to ever be in a class at St E. School of Nursing, it is by far the highest ratio of males to females. 25%! Pretty good considering that of the 72 starting my class as a freshman, there were still only these same 4 males.
