Family Day/ Valentine’s Day

We celebrated Valentine’s Day on Monday. I also found out from a calendar at Guardian Angel Hospice that it is Family Day in a few provinces in Canada. For the last couple years we have attempted a less traditional Valentine’s Day due to lack of money. Christmas followed by my birthday then Ilise’s birthday and finally Valentine’s Day = no money left. We decided that it was actually more fun to spend less. Rather than flowers, chocolates, and jewelry, we choose a gift that costs less than $5 which describes or has significance to the other spouse. It can be somewhat challenging and usually inspires creativity since $5 is not very much. After getting dinner at Bob Evans, we went to the store and chose our gifts. Then we had an enjoyable evening with lots of fun pictures, 4% of them are shown below…… we had a LOT of fun with the camera. Zoe was asleep on Ilise’s lap the whole time.

I’m not sure what I did here but it obviously offended Ilise. You can tell because of the “Sarver look.” Her chin is drawn back and her bottom lip is curled over her teeth.

Still got it

Ilise’s gift for me was flash cards because I always annoy her by talking numbers, prices, and doing math. My gift for Ilise was a Mr. Bump action figure. I chose this because like Mr. Bump, Ilise tends to hurt (bump) herself on walls, couches, coffee tables etc… We both had a good laugh when we presented the gifts.

Oh, I love the "Sarver look"! It means we just won a prize! Our prize being the look. XD

It's when you know you've won. Won by causing humblization through annoyance or by debunking a sure thought. It's good to knock a Sarver down a peg or two from time to time to ensure they continue to run at their optimum. Zoe is greatly aiding in this endeaver to keep the Sarver of the house humble...and now we know why Jerry had to have six. :)

Oh I love your comments and agree fully!! I do really enjoy the look. I'm sure to show Ilise how much I love it every time she does it and this lets me see it even more! It is also fun to take her down a peg or two every now and then because I'm usually the one getting taken down.

I'm sure Zoe will do a great job at keeping Ilise and me humble. Hopefully it doesn't take six to get us where we need to be though ;)
