Roses and Trinkets

My beautiful wife! We don't have flowers in our apartment often so we had to have fun with them before we put them in the vase to look at.

Yeah, I don't think I can pull this off like the guys always do in the movies but it was worth a shot.


This was Ilise's favorite flower. She loved the carnations. I wish I would have known this before because this was the cheapest flower in the vase by far. Cheaper than the filler (which Ilise initially referred to as weeds) I guess I have not been with her long enough yet to know her tastes completely but she still enjoyed them greatly.

Unfortunately the lilies have not yet bloomed in the picture. They have now and they are beautiful. They also smell great and it fills the entire room. It makes Ilise sneeze occasionally but it is worth it.


This was Ilise idea. The roses don't really smell that much anyway.

For valentines day Ilise and I take a different approach to gift giving. In order to save money, we typically put about a $5 limit on the gift and encourage creativity. We go to Target and walk around separately until we find something and then share what we got for each other and why. Ilise got me the heart with the bandage saying "You can always cure a broken heart." I got Ilise the cheetah because she is very fast at coming up with comebacks and also loving words of encouragement. I also know she loves cats big and small.
