Wallabies, Goats, and Monkeys Oh My!

Since we weren’t able to make it to the zoo last time, we decided to make another trip on Saturday before meeting up for Nanne’s party. This time we got to see some animals! Zoe loves animals and had a blast here. She especially like the monkeys and continues making monkey sounds for several minutes after we left their cages.

We went into the butterfly exhibit and Ilise was able to get some awesome pictures.

She was originally aiming at the one butterfly centered in the picture but as she snapped the shot the other flew in from the left. It was a nice little surprise.

Zoe got a kick out of the butterflies as well but she wanted to do more than just look at them. It got a bit difficult trying to keep her hands off of them. Here she is smelling the flowers and giggling at the butterflies.

We got to go into the petting zoo portion and and as you may have guessed, Zoe loved it. I don’t think all of the animals shared her enthusiasm as she ran from animal to animal screaming and laughing but at least she had fun. She enjoyed watching the chickens but it got a bit creepy when she started saying mmmm chicken mmmm! It’s a good thing she couldn’t get her hands on one.

The Wallaby exhibit is a lot of fun too. After watching one hop away, Zoe decided to start hopping around the zoo laughing. If four cats and a dog didn’t make it clear that we love animals, maybe some of these pictures will help.
