Fun for Father’s Day

Ilise has been asking me what I wanted to do for father’s day for weeks now but I never took the time to think about what I wanted to do. She got sick of waiting for my answer and proposed we take a trip to Purdue and enjoy the sites of where we met. We also both really wanted to eat at Legend Buffet in Lafayette so that was even more incentive to return for a while.

Here we are in front of the Class of 1950 Building where we met during our first semester at Purdue.

The doors were unlocked so we decided to take a look at our old seats during Psych 120. We liked to sit in the 4th row from the bottom, just above my right shoulder.

Our next stop was the liberal arts fountain. We weren’t sure if they even ran during the summer when there aren’t many people on campus but we hadn’t seen either fountain running yet so we were sad that we might not get to see them in action. Zoe still enjoyed running around though.

Since we suspected the fountains were shut off for the summer, I decided to climb on top and play with Zoe. It didn’t last long! I was trying to help Zoe figure out where I was so I could pick her up when I heard a click. OH NO! I didn’t think the fountains would be running right now. I had just enough time to jump off the top before getting blasted in the side with one burst. I went running for safety but didn’t make it before realizing Zoe was still walking around with the ring of water jets. I snatched her up and made for safety again. This time we made it and Zoe didn’t even get wet. Luckily, not all of the jets start up at the same time.

And this is what I would have gotten blasted with had I not gotten down in time.

There’s where I was hit while trying to escape.

Zoe is afraid of getting hit by water so Ilise slowly introduced her to it.

What a great Father’s Day trip. After visiting campus, we went to the farmer’s market and bought some delicious strawberry-pineapple jam and then headed for our favorite buffet.
