Hitchin a Ride

Ilise and I went to Mississenawa State Park on Saturday to visit some of my family. After only having been there for a few minutes, I decided to play with the frisbee with Ken Walton. One throw went close to his camper and when we bent down to pick it up he saw this little guy chattering loudly at him. It ended up that they hitched a ride in the bumber of their camper where their mom had build their nest. This little guy was not afraid and even chased Ilise as she was taking pictures of him.

This is the second squirrel who was more reluctant to emerge from his little home.

The first squirrel quickly adapted to his surroundings and scampered all over my parents' camp site. It was a lot of fun to see him bounce around. It is the first time I have ever seen a baby squirrel.

After they both got brave enough to explore, they ended up sitting on the road. When I saw them sitting together I had to get a picture. If only all siblings behaved like this... I took a few pictures and then saw a truck coming so I tried to herd them off of the road. They didn't like my idea and held their ground even after nudged them with my foot. The truck driver saw them and avoided the area. It was only then that they decided to move, but instead of running away they chased the truck and a kid riding his bike. Ilise and I wanted to bring them home as pets but we knew it wouldn't work out. My guess is they would end up terrorizing Ninja and Cloud anyway.

They're little twinner squirrels! If you refer back to my post about how I'd be a squirrel then you'll see that this is what my twin boys will look like. Yeah, they're cute.
